Super efficient, unbelievable, well up to this point I was willing to leave protools for the availability to have this EQ on every channel. I have 32 channels open with little to no resources being hogged. Efficiency? it can't be possible that this killer EQ is available in line on every channel? Yes, this isn't a plug-in, it's an integrated part of each, and every channel of this Harrison beast. I apologize for all the excessive background stories on who I am, and what I do, but I believe you need to know the man before you believe his observation, and opinion of a new product. So much that if this was offered as a EQ plug-in just by itself, it would take this industry by storm. I own virtually every Eq plug UA, and Waves make, and they're great- but not close to the level of the Harrison 32C's EQ. The onboard Harrison 32C Eq is the best digitally replicated EQ I have ever heard, and thats a big deal. This would be a good test because I had thousands of dollars of Universal Audios meticulously modeled plug-ins so I put Ua's 32C's EQ against The Harrison Mixbus 32C's modeled Eq. I was still into demo mode trying to ignore the bursts every 20 seconds or so, and I had to prove to myself if Harrison truly scoped out, and measured every component in the 32C's circuit as they claimed they did. I had to try out the demo, and I did, The Harrison Mixbus 32C was much more than a "new DAW"- it was the complete package. This also resonated with me because my very favorite plug in is the UA Harrison 32C Eq- my goto EQ for every channel until my UA Quad 8's tell me I'm done. The Harrison Mixbus 32C, what is this? I knew of the 32C from my analog console days. ![]() It's that tangible, simple, hands on, artform of mixing. Still not proficient and completely comfortable with this world of endless options, and pages in Protools- I knew that it was the only real "big time" DAW studio standard, but something was missing, a void. I spent all the rest of my studio years mixing in the box, and editing away. We loved the ability to not have to cut the tape for editing, or have a technician come in a spend 4 hours fixing the Otari remote- those days were now gone. Many years, and records past and we switched over to Protools. ![]() I will never forget the aroma of the electronics warming up, all of my senses were shocked to life-this is the real deal. The first studio record we did was recorded on a Harrison analog console- we were in awe of the site, and glory of this beast. Since then I have recorded, played on, and produced over 19 studio records. I have been involved in the recording industry since the age of 14 (1985), that's when my band Mad At The World was first signed in Orange county Ca. Hi, very late comment to add my point of view. I know the offer has ended and there may be no one who reads this or replies, but I decided to post the question on the off chance someone reads this and can help me understand the differences between ToolWiz Cares' "Time Freeze" and Paragon's Virtualization Manager 14 compact edition. In fact, since it is an all-in-one virtual environment creator, which doesn't require any additional software to perform it's function, wouldn't 'Time Freeze' be a much better software to use, ? So, wouldn't the protection be the same as Paragon's software? As soon as you restart your PC, every change made during an active 'Time Freeze' session is abandoned and your PC returns to the identical state which it was in before "Time Freeze" was enabled.ĭoes Paragon's software do the same thing? You can use ToolWiz "Time Freeze" on any OS. It is a software that creates a virtual environment that you can use to protect your system. ToolWiz Cares' "Time Freeze" is not a back-up and restore software. Paragon Software’s support team will reply you as soon as possible. You do this by bringing planets into your civ's fold, and you do that by building up your influence, either by paying for it, or by performing missions that pop up the first time you visit. Out beyond your home planet is an entire galaxy - go and capture 51 percent of it. While you can still score classic Civ-style victories involving domination, science, and the building of wonders, the main thrust of Starships is the population victory. It's not a throwaway game by any means, it's just one that's built to plug very specific gaps in your life. It's one of Firaxis' fabled Sid Projects, too: Meier's listed as both designer and a programmer here, and the end result has much of the cheery playfulness you may have found in Ace Patrol (another recent Sid Project that straddled both iPads and PCs). And that doesn't really matter, because instead this is a wonderful knockabout timewaster, with matches designed to eat up an afternoon - or a succession of bus trips if you're playing on iPad - rather than a whole weekend. If you were expecting a full-blown follow-up to Beyond Earth, in other words, this isn't it. There is some cross-connectivity with Beyond Earth in the form of unlockable things like planets and specific missions. Before you begin each match here, you choose from a familiar muddle of affinities and faction leaders, but they're all just starting perks, really, and while the game that lies beyond these choices is a turn-based affair, it's far breezier than Beyond Earth: a nice territory-capture strategy treat as you move between planets, a compact hex-based battler when you get into orbit around one. (Just me?)īeyond that - and beyond a few themed unlockable treats - actual links between both games tend to be relatively cosmetic. Starships, however, throws open the entire galaxy. Beyond Earth limited itself to the atrocities we might cause when scouting a new homeworld. In many ways, Firaxis' latest offers even greater scope for our wretched species to express itself. ![]() Both titles hinge on a very simple idea, powerfully stated: the worst thing you're ever likely to find floating around out in space is another human being. Sid Meier's Starships shares one crucial theme with Civilization: Beyond Earth, the game whose story it loosely continues. Slight but delightful, this is a lovely convergence of strategy and tactics. ![]() ![]() See also: Tatler Exclusive: Kim Woo-Bin On Being Jaeger-LeCoultre's New Ambassador And What's Next For Himįor Cumberbatch, there was never any doubt about which road his career would take. “Life’s about the journey,” he reminds me, before admitting that winning his first Bafta for the title role in Patrick Melrose (2019) was a “wonderful moment”. For the role, he lost a striking amount of weight to transform himself into British businessman Greville Wynne, who spied on the Soviet Union during the Cold War and spent 18 months in a Moscow prison after being caught. This Sixties-based spy story bursts with intrigue and political subterfuge, but what was Cumberbatch’s most memorable moment on set? “The last scene we shot because I got to eat a doughnut afterwards,” he tells me. Originally scheduled for a 2020 release, the film was just one of the many much-anticipated movies that was shelved due to shuttered theatres and lockdowns the world over. This year, the performer’s true-life drama The Courier was released to critical acclaim. His portrayal of British mathematician Alan Turing, who cracked Nazi Germany’s Enigma military code during the Second World War, earned him Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations. Now 45, Cumberbatch has proven to be the ultimate chameleon, having played everyone from Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in The Fifth Estate (2013). But it was his fast-talking performance as the private investigator, which Steven Spielberg has called “the best Sherlock Holmes on screen”, that transformed Cumberbatch into a high-cheek-boned dreamboat, quite literally overnight. He’s played theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, Van Gogh and, lest we forget, the hair-raising paedophile in Atonement (2007). Before donning the detective’s hat in 2010, the distinctive-looking London native landed several quirky acting jobs. Benedict Cumberbatch’s portrayal of the alarmingly awkward Sherlock Holmes catapulted his career to unimaginable heights. ![]() Answering this question warrants the need for future research.
